Welcome To All Things Twisted . . .Wood That Is!

Twisted sticks are not really twisted but carved to look that way on the Ober lathe that is over a hundered years old.
The Ober Manufacturing Company built this antique and it still runs today. There are never two sticks that turn
out exactly alike and in some instances, due to the carving and sanding processes, may have slight irregularities.

We call it character!

Sticks are made from old fence posts that have been in the ground for over 50 years. You will find nail holes and burn marks giving these sticks distinctive character from others.

Owner and operator of the Ober lathe, Dennis Drake featured an interviewed on PBS!

All walking sticks have three coats of exterior polyurethane. Laminated and multi-colored sticks are made of two or more woods glued together then turned on the Ober lathe, giving an "inlaid" appearance to the walking stick.
